Extraordinary Work Team Recognition Day 2025: Celebrating the People Who Bring OWC’s Purpose to Life
There seems to be a “a day” for everything these days – but some are absolutely worth celebrating. I just learned that today is Extraordinary Work Team Recognition Day, and at One World Cover, it feels like the perfect moment to pause and spotlight the people whose work sits at the very heart of our client experience.
Because at One World Cover, our purpose (to help our clients build world-class employee benefits programs, that renew with predictable and sustainable renewals, delivered with empathy, warmth and care) isn’t just a sentence on a website – it is the daily standard by which our clients measure us – and the promise our team must bring to life with every interaction, every escalation, every medical crisis and every renewal cycle.
And our B2B Customer Experience Team (‘business to business’) – Rehan, Gouri and Clara – live this purpose better than anyone I could ever hope to work with.
It’s worth highlighting that (and this is great advice for any organization) a few years ago, we shifted how we build our teams. We stopped hiring purely based on CVs, technical skillsets, or traditional industry backgrounds (though those still matter). Instead, we began hiring for alignment with our values:
- Long-term relationships, built on trust
- Lead with genuine caring and a customer-centric philosophy
- Obsessed with adding value for our clients
- Committed to the quality of our work
- Driven to chase learning, growth, and excellence
We realised something simple: Skills can be taught. Values cannot.
Choosing people who naturally embody empathy, integrity, and a genuine sense of responsibility has completely transformed the service we deliver for our corporate clients, be it MNCs, SMEs, IGOs or international schools.
This morning, during our senior leadership call, I said something I’ve found myself saying often lately: “I love our team.”
Not because they are technically excellent (they are). Not because they handle complex claims, escalations, medical coordination and insurer negotiations with calm professionalism (they do). And not because they work tirelessly to support thousands of members across multiple countries and time zones (they absolutely do).
I love this team because they really do take care of One World Cover’s clients like they are family. Their work is a direct expression of something I’ve written about before: The power of purpose through service to others.
In our world – where medical emergencies happen at 2am, where health insurance benefit decisions impact staff wellbeing, and where rising costs can threaten budgets – this sense of purpose is not optional. It is everything.
To Rehan, Gouri and Clara: Thank you for the professionalism, empathy, and hard work you bring every single day. Thank you for representing what One World Cover stands for. I am certain our clients feel it. And our leadership team appreciates it deeply.
Our team’s purpose is ambitious and our team’s standards are high. And the work we do – protecting and championing employee wellbeing, guiding complex medical cases, helping companies achieve financially sustainable healthcare – is meaningful. Purpose becomes reality only when people carry it, and this team does exactly that. Here’s to our extraordinary team and here’s to many more years of doing work that matters, together.
